In our previous posts, we learned how to add product delivery settings for recurring weekdays, specific dates, and time slots using the Product Delivery Date Pro for WooCommerce plugin. There are times when you want to limit the number of product deliveries that can occur in a day or on a specific date or per time slot. So today we will discuss about the feature that allows you to set maximum deliveries per day/date & time slot.
Let us understand this setting for all 3 product delivery options:
Recurring Weekdays
For instance, let us consider a business that sells all kinds of bags like handbags, sling bags, travel bags, etc online, called as Apex Bags Company. They deliver products on all weekdays. So first create a product named Yellow sling bag that can be delivered on all weekdays. But the availability of this product in a day is fixed to 10. Hence you need to set the Maximum deliveries per day option to 10 deliveries as shown below:
Maximum deliveries per day is set to 10
Therefore when this product is selected by the customer on the frontend for a specific weekday, its maximum availability displayed will be 10 as shown below:
Maximum deliveries for 25th July, 2018 is 10
This shows that the maximum number of deliveries available on 15 January 2025 is 10. When an order is placed for delivering a Yellow sling bag on 15th January 2025 and if another customer selects delivery of the same product for the same day, the maximum availability for delivery will change to 9. This is because one delivery of a Yellow sling bag had already taken place, hence the Product page will show the availability message as shown below:
Maximum deliveries for 15th January 2025 have changed to 9
Specific Dates
Similar to recurring weekdays, for specific dates too, the maximum availability option works the same way. Consider an online Greeting Cards shop that sells greeting cards for the Raksha Bandhan festival and showcases different types of rakhis for sending it to your brother. So let us create a product named Rakhi which is available only on dates 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th August, 2025 and a maximum of 50 rakhis can be sent on a specific date as shown below:
A maximum of 50 rakhis can be sent on specific dates
Therefore when this product is selected by the customer on the frontend for a specific date, its maximum availability displayed will be 50 as shown below:
Maximum deliveries for 8th August 2025 is 50
This shows that the maximum number of deliveries available on 08/08/25 is 50. When an order is placed for delivering Rakhi on 8th August 2025 and if another customer selects delivery of the same product for the same date, the maximum availability for delivery will change to 49. This is because one delivery of Beads Rakhi had already taken place, hence the Product page will show an availability message as shown below:
Maximum deliveries for 8th August 2025 has changed to 49
Time Slots
As you are well aware of time slots for product deliveries, you can also set a maximum limit for deliveries that can take place for that particular time slot on the Product page. Let us consider an online Cake shop that delivers Blueberry Cheese cake at a particular time in the day, so the shop owner can set the maximum deliveries for cakes during the selected time slot as shown below:
Cheese cakes can be delivered between 10 am to 4 pm
As you can see, Product Blueberry Cheese cake can be delivered on all weekdays between 10:00 – 16:00 and cannot exceed more than 20 deliveries for that time slot. Therefore when this product is selected by the customer on the frontend for any weekday and particular time slot, its maximum availability displayed will be 20 for that time slot as shown below:
Maximum deliveries between 10 am to 4 pm is 20
This shows that the maximum number of deliveries available on 30/12/2024 for the time slot 10:00 AM – 04:00 PM is 20. When an order is placed for delivering Blueberry Cheese cake on 30th December 2024 between 10:00 AM – 04:00 PM and if another customer selects delivery of the same product for the same date and time slot, then the maximum availability for delivery will change to 19 for that time slot. This is because, one delivery of Blueberry Cheese cake had already taken place during that time slot, hence the Product page will show an availability message as shown below:
Maximum deliveries has changed to 19 for selected time slot
Conclusion
